Well, the good news is that WE HAVE A COURT DATE!!
November 9th will find us all out in the village praying that God softens the judge’s heart and allows us a positive ruling. We can reasonably assume that we’ll get a verbal ruling about a week after the court date. Then we would hope to get the written ruling and official guardianship order about a week after that. It could happen faster, though, which is what we’re praying for!
After receiving the written ruling, we can apply for passports and visas, which can take another two weeks.
So the bad news is that the babies will probably not make it back for Thanksgiving, but we are just giving thanks that we have a date and that we still have the hope of having the girls home soon.
I will be flying back to Nashville tomorrow (Tuesday) and then will fly back with Nathaniel a few days prior to our court date.
Please continue praying. The judge in the girls’ village has asked to hear no more legal guardianship cases, but his staff has encouraged us to go ahead and file with him. He has approved five cases in the past, so we trust that God will move in his heart again for ours.
