The Day that the Judge said YES

It was this day last year, that our hearts were on the line. We had walked in obedience, with trust & hope that this little girl the Lord had called us to, on the other side of the world, would be forever ours. We prayed most of the night on November 8th, 2011 in Uganda. We surrendered everything to Him. Believing once and for all, “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

On the morning of November 9th we sat in the Judges chambers while our lawyer presented our case. The room was beyond tense and I nervously bounced Ali Rose on my knee, begging her not to make a peep. (The Judge expects children to be quiet). I’ve never felt so out-of-control and at the same time known, the Lord was completely in control. After hearing our cases, the Judge recessed for lunch. We had a somewhat somber lunch back at the hotel and arrived back ready to hear the words that would change our lives forever. Because God is mighty, because He is in charge, because His plans are always best- no matter what they look like…. but in this circumstance, the heart of our Judge was softened and he said, YES!!!!!!

So today, one year later, I took Ali Rose and Eden Hannah to get their hair braided this morning. Then they napped and played in our backyard. After school all the Morrows & Doyles went to Sweet CeCe’s to continue the celebration! What a year it’s been. I stand amazed. More iphone pictures to come of our escapades from today, but some beautiful mandie joy photos to share first with this post. To God alone be the glory~ We are so thankful for His plans.

I love the joy & energy in this last photo, it’s like it just screams- THE JUDGE SAID YES!!!!!!!
